Your Child’s Health Is More Connected Than You Think

As parents, we often notice the little things first.
A baby who struggles to settle. A toddler who seems tense. A child who snores at night or constantly slouches at the table.
Sometimes these things feel unrelated. Sometimes they feel like phases. And sometimes, deep down, you wonder if there’s a bigger picture.
At Bump and Beyond Family Wellness, one of the most important things we help families understand is this:
The body is not a collection of separate parts. It is a connected system.
That’s why we’re excited to partner with Becca Rose from Wisconsin Myofunctional Therapy for a special online workshop:
“It’s All Connected: Supporting Family Health Through Posture, Breathing, and the Nervous System”
Saturday, February 28th at 10:00 AM
The Nervous System: The Foundation of Regulation

As a family chiropractor, our focus is always on the nervous system.
The nervous system controls how your child sleeps, digests, grows, focuses, and regulates emotions. It is the communication highway between the brain and the body.
When spinal alignment is compromised, even subtly, the nervous system may not function at its full potential. And when that happens, children can struggle with things like:
Restless sleep
Tension or irritability
Sensory challenges
Difficulty focusing
Postural imbalances
Chiropractic care helps restore balance so the body can regulate itself more effectively, but spinal alignment is only one part of the picture.
Breathing and Posture: The Missing Link
In the course of our practice, we often see children with forward head posture, rounded shoulders, or shallow breathing patterns. What many parents don’t realize is that breathing mechanics and tongue posture can significantly influence how the spine develops.
This is where myofunctional therapy becomes incredibly valuable.
Mouth breathing, low tongue posture, or restricted oral tissues can affect things like jaw and facial development, airway function, sleep quality, postural alignment, and nervous system regulation.
When breathing is inefficient, the body compensates. And those compensations can influence spinal alignment over time.
By working together, chiropractic and myofunctional therapy address both structure and function.
Why This Workshop Matters for Families
This workshop was created to help parents connect the dots. Instead of treating sleep separately from posture, or posture separately from focus, we’ll explore how these systems interact.
You’ll learn things like:
How breathing patterns influence nervous system regulation
Why posture is more than just “standing up straight”
Signs your child’s airway may need support
How chiropractic and myofunctional therapy complement each other
Practical steps to support your child’s development early
Our goal is not to overwhelm you. It’s to empower you with information.
